An online collection launched to experience 75 years of Indian Independence

Celebrating the 75 years of Indian Independence, Google on Friday announced the launch of a series of special initiatives across its products and services that will offer content and experiences via an online collection titled India Ki Udaan available on Google Arts & Culture. The collection highlights some of the remarkable milestones from the last 75 years for people to relive and experience. Published in English and Hindi, the collection allows one to explore more than 120 illustrations and 21 stories created by 10 talented artists, exhibitions from various institutions across India — including the Ministry of Tourism, Museum of Art & Photography, Heritage Directorate of the Indian Railways, the Indian Academy of Sciences and Dastkari HaatSamiti.

Speaking at the event, G Kishan Reddy, Minister of Tourism, Culture and Development of North Eastern Region, said, "I am privileged to be a part of this event which is a celebration of the unwavering spirit of India. I would like to appreciate the efforts of the team in working with the Ministry of Culture and Ministry of Tourism to come together and celebrate Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav. I am glad that the organisation will be supporting the ministry in amplifying the various initiatives of the India's 75 years of celebrations."


Amit Sood, Director, Google Arts & Culture, who joined the launch virtually, shared, "The journey began in India ten years ago. Over the past decade, our mission of making world culture more accessible to everyone through technology has evolved. And thanks to more than 100 partners in India, we bring the cultural treasures, stories, and artists from India to the global audience. Together with our partners, we look forward to enriching our India ki Udaan collections by bringing to it the unique blend of archives and artistry for people in India and across the globe.”



The launch concluded with cultural performances from the likes of singers like Bhoomi Trivedi, Clinton Cerejo, Yash Kapoor among others.
